About Me
Dr. Brandon Gilliland (Dr. "G.") is entering his 18th year in education and is humbled by the opportunity to serve the Alexander City Schools community as Assistant Principal of Radney Elementary. Dr. "G." has taught a variety of subjects and grade levels ranging from middle school through graduate-level university courses. He earned his B.A. in Political Science and History from UAB in 2006. In 2010, Dr. "G." graduated from the University of West Alabama with an M.Ed. in General Social Science Education, with an additional 18 hours of graduate-level history credit. In 2015, he graduated with his Doctor of Education degree in Leadership from Creighton University. His areas of research include school safety, legal issues in education, and current issues in school administration. Dr. "G." is married to Dr. Krista Gilliland, who is an English/Language Arts teacher and is the proud father of Lela, 13, and Evie, 11. In his spare time, Dr. "G." loves traveling with his family and watching both Creighton and UAB basketball.
